I’m Russel Libby with Northwoods Urology of Texas, and I’m talking today about expedited treatment for kidney stones. If you have a kidney stone, as you know, it’s very painful. That’s why I want you to make sure that you know my name and who to call if you have a problem.
The reason why I’m making this video is important, probably more important than most of my other videos. The reason why is because if you have a kidney stone and you’re in significant pain, you may not know where to go or how to get help. But I’m here for you, and this is what’s gonna happen. If you call and make an appointment with me, I’ll make my best effort to see you the same day. If I can’t see you the same day, I’ll fit you into my schedule no matter what the next day.
All you have to do is call our office. After I see you, triage you, evaluate you and we make a firm diagnosis, we can come up with a treatment plan. Often when you have a kidney stone, there’s a significant amount of pain involved. We’ll make sure you’re covered with pain medication. We’ll make sure you’re covered with the appropriate medications for kidney stone treatment. And we’ll get you, if you’re a candidate, scheduled for the operating room in an expedited fashion. It’s important not to delay when you have a kidney stone because the stone itself can cause obstruction of the drainage of your kidney, which can lead to pain, nausea, vomiting, and it’s really gonna be a struggle to deal with your everyday lives.
What I suggest is that you get treatment on an urgent basis. Kidney stones can sometimes pass, but if they’re large enough that it looks like they will not pass, then an expedited treatment strategy would be preferred. What I can do is see you in clinic, book you for surgery and hopefully add you on for the same day or the next day for expedited treatment for your stone. If this is the case, you’ll have less pain and leave a much happier patient.
Now, if you go across the street, you may not be able to get surgery very quickly, but I can promise you that if you come to see me, I’ll make my best effort to get the surgery scheduled within 24 hours. That’s what I generally like to do for my patients. I know that it causes a lot of pain for patients to have these kidney stones, and I’m here to help get you out of that pain.
What I would suggest is that you call and make an appointment with me today at Northwoods Urology of Texas. Please schedule it with Russell Libby, and I’ll do my very best to fit you into my schedule that day or see you the next day. I’ll make a time, and we’ll get it done.
