Fatigue
One of the most common low testosterone symptoms in men that you could experience is fatigue. Low T produces a sort of fatigue that doesn’t go away even when you’ve had plenty of rest. You’ll feel tired in your muscles and drowsy. This can lead to other issues such as depression or anxiety.
Little or no sex drive
Testosterone is part of the chemicals in your body that fuel your sex drive. According to Healthline, it is one of the primary driving forces behind getting aroused for men. When you experience low testosterone you may not feel the want or need to engage in sex. This can lead to depression as well as spousal problems.
Erectile dysfunction
One of the more obvious low testosterone symptoms in men that you may experience is erectile dysfunction. Simply put, erectile dysfunction means that you lose the ability to get “firm” or stay “firm” during sexual activity. However, erectile dysfunction can have a multitude of causes so don’t be quick to just assume it’s due to low testosterone. There are both physical and psychological ailments that can result in erectile dysfunction. Consult with a urologist to diagnose the true cause.
Hair loss
Testosterone is a necessary part of producing hair in men. Not just on their heads, but facial, underarm, chest, pubic, and legs as well. If you start to experience hair loss in multiple areas, this can be a common symptom of low testosterone. However, male baldness is quite common. It may not be related solely to low testosterone, but have a genetic component as well.
Mood swings or depression
Oftentimes, life will throw us curve balls. Men may feel upset, angry, or depressed because of certain events. That’s totally normal. Unfortunately, if you are experiencing rapid mood swings and extreme changes in behavior this could be a sign of low testosterone. Low testosterone symptoms in men can compound on one another, and often you’ll have a combination of symptoms.
Difficulty sleeping
If you are experiencing trouble sleeping there is a possibility that you are experiencing a low testosterone symptom in men. This may manifest itself by waking up multiple times during the night, or experiencing sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is the process in which you fall asleep but your body forgets to breathe while sleeping.
Weight gain
It is common to experience Low T if you are obese. Additionally, you may see signs of loss of muscle mass as well. This happens due to a combination of factors, mainly feeling fatigued and not being active enough. As an aside, weight gain on its own is probably not a sign of low testosterone symptoms in men, but in conjunction with other symptoms it can point to Low T.
Loss of semen or smaller testicles
When you experience low testosterone you may notice that you produce less semen. Your ejaculations may be smaller and not as “euphoric” as previous. Another sign of Low T is your testicles starting to become smaller. Your testicles becoming smaller will not be a result of being cold, but because they do not have the testosterone they need.
